Editorial Policy

Updated: 18 August 2026

The principles of rigour, independence and responsibility that guide content published by VivAfrik.

Our mission

VivAfrik produces, organises and distributes information, knowledge and analysis to improve understanding and decision-making on Africa’s sustainable transformations.

Rigour

We seek to distinguish facts, analysis and opinion clearly. Content is reviewed and verified according to its nature, sensitivity and the resources available.

Sources

Where possible, VivAfrik prioritises primary sources, verifiable data, official documents and identifiable experts. Significant uncertainty must be disclosed.

Relevance

The editorial line focuses primarily on Africa’s economic, climate, environmental, energy, financial, technological, social and institutional transformations.

Editorial independence

Commercial, Advisory, Digital, partnership or institutional relationships do not automatically determine editorial treatment.

Sponsored content and partnerships

Sponsored content or content produced as part of a commercial partnership must be identifiable so readers can understand its context.

Corrections

Any confirmed substantive error must be corrected diligently. A correction request may be sent to the editorial team through the website contact channel.

Right of reply

A person or organisation directly concerned by content may send a right-of-reply request to contact@vivafrik.com. The request is reviewed in light of the facts and applicable framework.

Advisory and Digital

Editorial production, client engagements, Digital activities and partnerships have distinct responsibilities. A commercial relationship does not guarantee favourable editorial coverage. An editorial decision is not conditional on the existence of a commercial relationship.

Artificial intelligence

VivAfrik may use artificial intelligence tools to assist certain research, structuring, translation, analysis or production tasks. These tools do not replace verification, human judgement or editorial responsibility. VivAfrik remains responsible for the content it publishes.
